Here is a list of things I have found that might help costochondritis ease a little:
- Being fit and active (doing exercise such as yoga consistently)
- Resting (this may seem at odds with point one, but in the short term, doing nothing helps)
- Heat (saunas and heat packs)
- Keeping a good posture
- Sleeping well
- Cocodamol, voltarol & paracetamol (ibuprofen has no effect)
Here is a list of things that i found to make costochondritis worse:
- Touching it (even slight contact)
- Caffeine
- Alcohol
- Stress
- Lack of sleep
- Poor posture
- Laughing
- Underwired bras
- The cold weather and generally being cold
- Any form of impact exercise (running etc)
- Lifting heavy objects
- Reaching above my head
